Board Members
Flagstaff Academy is governed by a Board of Directors in accordance with the bylaws of the organization. The Board of Directors consists of committed and dedicated volunteers who may be parents of Flagstaff Academy students or other community members, and whom must share and uphold the vision and mission of Flagstaff Academy. The Board of Directors is responsible for setting the annual school budget, reviewing and approving the curriculum, establishing policies and procedures consistent with Flagstaff's mission, hiring the principal, long range planning, site and facility development, and much more.2023-2024 Board of Directors
President
Mandy is the Director of Student Life at Front Range Community College right across the street from Flagstaff. She is in her 16 th year at the college. She graduated with a degree in Biology from Baldwin-Wallace University in Ohio. She volunteers with Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats and in her kid’s Greenhouse classes each week.
Mandy moved to Colorado, from Ohio, in 2005. Her husband, Nick, is a project manager & social media manager for GreenPoint Roofing. They have two little dragons, Lincoln and Juniper and love living in Longmont.
In her free time, Mandy and her family like spending time with friends, doing escape rooms or trivia, traveling, playing outside, and watching the Broncos, Rockies, and Avalanche! They’re all animal lovers and have three cats and a dog. In her rare moments of alone time, Mandy likes to read and see movies.
TreasurerGrowing up in New England, Geoff moved to the area after getting his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston. He met his wife Jeanine as they each pursued their MBAs at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Jeanine is a financial advisor with Northwestern Mutual who helps families and small business owners plan for their future.
Geoff has experience in operations strategy, risk management, finance/budgeting, and hiring/personnel leadership. He is currently putting the finishing touches on his latest obsession – the design and build of their family home, where he led the design, acted as his own general contractor, and did a fair bit of heavy lifting/general labor as well. He loves skiing, motorcycle racing, family hikes and the endless smiles of kids at the beach.
Geoff is passionate about the role of charter schools in lifting the level of education for all members of our communities and is excited to help Flagstaff Academy continue to lead in student success.
Secretary
Christina Godwin's background is in Electrical Engineering. She has a bachelor's in electrical and electronics engineering from India and a master's in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She worked as a senior design engineer in the Semiconductor Industry for more than a decade.
Christina chose to be a stay-at-home mom a year after having her second child. She lives in Longmont with her husband Darshan who is a principal systems engineer and two daughters, Diya and Dhriti. Both kids have been at Flagstaff Academy since preschool.
Christina has volunteered at the school as a preschool activity helper, class party helper, Friday folders, science lab helper, field trip chaperone, front office assistant, DI team manager, and also served on many committees. She volunteers for her daughter's soccer team with the St.Vrain FC soccer club. She is also a co-leader of her daughter's girl scout troop and volunteers with her dance team. Christina loves cooking, spending time with friends, traveling with her family, crafting with her kids, and loves watching them dance and play soccer.
DirectorStephanie was born and raised in Colorado. She attended the University of Northern Colorado where she met Chris, her husband of 18 years.
