The Health Clerk's role is to administer medications to students, perform health procedures (such as diabetes care, emergency response care for severe allergies, asthma and seizures), implement health care plan interventions and inform teachers of student health needs. The Health Clerk also provides basic first aid care to students, tracks student immunization records/status, and coordinates state mandated hearing and vision.
Flagstaff Academy was founded by a group of parents looking to make a positive difference in their communities and in the lives of their children. Flagstaff Academy would not exist without active parent participation. Volunteer opportunities are abundant as well as diverse. We strongly encourage all parents/guardians to offer their time, skills, talents and dedication to Flagstaff .
Volunteering in the Health Office requires 30-60 minutes a shift.
Shifts may be one (or more) days a week, Monday-Thursday, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Ideally, one person would take the same shift throughout the school year, to keep the health office a familiar place for students.
The Health Office protocol is attached and outlines what is expected of a Health Office Volunteer.
