Community Service and Involvement
An integral part of PBIS is community service and involvement. By participating in community service initiatives such as food and clothing drives and fundraisers for other nonprofit organizations, students, staff, and the greater Flagstaff Academy community are all able to work toward a common goal.
Each month, the Flagstaff Academy PBIS team launches a school-wide PBIS service project to support nonprofit organizations, show appreciate to an individual or group of individuals, or improve the school or environment. Past service projects include:
- Coat Drive in support of Coats for Colorado.
- Socktober sock drive for local nonprofit.
- Canned food drive for Our Center.
- Selling of pulsera's (bracelets) in support of The Pulsera Project.
- Battery recycling in partnership with the Flagstaff Academy Green Team.
- Student created thank you cards to area doctors and nurses.
- "Adopt-a-Space" Flagstaff Academy cleanup initiative.
