About Mrs. Wurth

Mrs. Wurth is excited to be part of the Flagstaff community. This will be her second year teaching and she is thrilled to be at Flagstaff.

While Mrs. Wurth was born in Colorado, she was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  After high school she wanted to return to Colorado for college. She graduated with a degree in biochemistry at Regis University. She worked as a research assistant in a biomedical research lab at the University of Colorado for eight years. She left research to raise her four children.  It was during this time that Mrs. Wurth realized teaching would allow her to use her science background and have a meaningful career while still supporting her family. She was able to complete her masters degree in education from Regis in 2020.

Mrs. Wurth lives with her husband and children in Longmont, CO.  Daniel (20) is starting his second year of college this fall. Gianna is a senior, Matthew is a freshman and Joey (8) is in 3rd grade. Most of Mrs. Wurth’s free time is spent at her children’s sporting events. The Wurth family are huge basketball fans, in particular college basketball. Mrs. Wurth also enjoys cooking and working in her gardens.

Mrs. Wruth believes her role as a teacher is to guide students how to become independent thinkers and take responsibility for their education. She believes students who have the skills to find information and think independently are more likely to be successful throughout their life. She believes all students are capable of success in the classroom and wants to cultivate an open, positive learning environment.
