About Ms. Hughes
I am a passionate science educator and outdoor adventurer returning to Flagstaff Academy after taking time away to raise two humans. I hold Colorado teaching licenses in Elementary Education (K–6) and Secondary Science (7–12), along with an M.A. in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado Denver.I have taught 2nd-8th grade in all subjects, but my favorite is teaching science! I’ve always loved sparking curiosity in young learners. Beyond the classroom, I have worn many adventurous hats; as a rock climbing instructor, outdoor education trip leader across the U.S. and Central America, creating leadership and cultural immersion experiences for teens and women.
I am thrilled to bring my love of science, exploration, and hands-on learning back to the Flagstaff Academy community!
