Flagstaff Academy Earns Top Honors at Corden Pharma Regional Science Fair

This past month, Flagstaff Academy sent 15 middle school students to compete at the Corden Pharma Regional Science Fair held at the University of Colorado Boulder Campus. A total of 13 middle schools across Boulder County participated and three Flagstaff Academy Dragons were awarded top honors at the junior level. The following students will be moving on to take part in the Colorado State Science and Engineering Fair on April 5-7 at Colorado State University:
  • Elizabeth Petersen (7th grade): 1st Place in Engineering - "Electricity into Heat"
  • Olga Rokhlenko (7th grade): 2nd Place in Behavioral and Social Sciences - "Personality Inheritance"
  • Nathaniel Vercammen (6th grade): 1st Place in Medicine and Health - "How Flatworms are Affected by Different Magnetic Fields"
Additionally, Elizabeth Petersen and Nathaniel Vercammen were both recipients of the Broadcom Masters award, given to the top 10% of all projects.
 
"We are so proud of the accomplishments of these students and their fantastic representation of Flagstaff Academy," says Mrs. Gustafson. "We look forward to cheering them on as they move on to the state competition!
