Flagstaff Academy Moves to Online Learning as Ordered by Governor Polis

In response to Colorado Governor Jared Polis' COVID-19 executive order suspending in-person learning in public and private schools across the state from Monday, March 23 to Friday, April 17, Flagstaff Academy will be providing online learning to the school's close to 900 K-8th grade students.

According to the governor’s press release, “the executive order directs Colorado school districts and the Charter School Institute to make every effort to provide alternative learning opportunities during this time while taking into account the needs of local communities.”

Since last Friday, March 13th when the school closed for an extended Spring Break due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Flagstaff Academy staff has been preparing for the possibility of going to an online education plan. They have been leveraging their expertise and use of technological tools and resources to provide a quality alternative for this unique situation. The school will be communicating information about the plan and providing additional relevant information to families in the coming days.

"We understand this is a disruption to our unique learning environment for students at all grade levels," said Wayne Granger, Executive Director. "However, we are dedicated to providing the best possible alternative that will be engaging, challenging, accountable, and designed with the highest standards and best practices in mind. We are grateful for the support of our entire community as we venture into these uncharted waters."
