CordenPharma Regional Science Fair Flagstaff Academy Award Winners - Way To Go, Dragons!

Last week, Flagstaff Academy had 13 middle school students who participated in the 2020 CordenPharma Regional Science Fair at the University of Colorado, Boulder campus. At the award ceremony that took place on Saturday evening, eight out of the thirteen students were recognized for their work: 
 
Christopher Wood (7th Grade) - 1st Place, Animal Science
Anna Enssle (8th Grade) - 2nd Place, Environmental Science 
Nicholas Weimer (8th Grade) - 2nd Place, Engineering
James O'Hara (7th Grade) - 3rd Place, Engineering
Nathaniel Vercammen (8th Grade) - 2nd Place, Medicine and Health/ Microbiology
 
In addition, two students won special awards:
Anna Enssle - Office of Naval Research Award
Nichelle Gilbert (7th Grade) - Donley Innovation and Imagination Award. 
 
Finally, three students won a Broadcom Masters award and have been invited to participate in the invitation-only Broadcom Masters STEM Fair, which will take place this summer:

Christopher Wood will be representing Flagstaff Academy at the upcoming Colorado State Science Fair at Colorado State University this April. 
 
In total, Flagstaff Academy had over 120 middle school participants in the school's December 2019 STEM Fair, the largest number of participants to date.
