Flagstaff Academy Robotics Teams Win Two Awards at VEX Robotics Competition "Tower Takeover"

Flagstaff Academy hosted a VEX Robotics "Tower Takeover" Tournament (VRC) with 17 teams competing from across the St. Vrain Valley School district on Saturday, Januar 25, 2020. Two Flagstaff Academy teams were honored with the following awards: 
  • Judge's Award (Team "Down a River): The Judges Award is presented to a team that the Judges determine is deserving of special recognition. Judges consider a number of possible criteria for this award, such as team displays of special attributes, exemplary effort and perseverance at the event, and team accomplishments or endeavors throughout the season that may not fit under existing awards but are nonetheless deserving of special recognition. Team members: Rohan Mysore, Atticus Paschall, Mark Rokhlenko, and Grace Schulist 
  • Think Award (Team "Error 404"): The Think Award is presented to a team that has developed and effectively used quality programming as part of their strategy to solve the game challenge. The winning team has quality, consistent, and successful autonomous mode programs as part of their strategy and team members are able to explain their programming process from strategy to syntax. Team members: Henry Danko, Carter Navulur, David Ortiz, and Quinn Sharp
Flagstaff Academy has five teams in VRC with each team being made up of four students 7th-8th grades. In addition, Flagstaff Academy also runs a number of VEX IQ Robotics teams in grades 4-8th grade. All of these teams represent Flagstaff Academy's leadership and strong presence in the district-wide Robotics energy.
