Over 40 fifth through eighth grade Dragons showed off their spelling acumen at the 2019 Flagstaff Academy Spelling Bee. After two hours and twenty minutes, eighth grader Mya Blair won this year's championship round with the word "tetragonal," which is defined by Merriam Webster as being "of, or relating to, or characteristic of the tetragonal system," with four angles and four sides.
Ms. Blair will compete at the Boulder Valley Regional Spelling Bee on February 29, 2020.
