Social and Emotional Learning Character Education

 

Flagstaff Academy has long been known for our strong and comprehensive approach to character education. We continue to build on that success with 7 Mindsets, which provides a specialized focus on social-emotional learning. This curriculum masterfully addresses the social-emotional learning needs of our students across all grades. It also supports our classroom teachers in the delivery and facilitation of effective character education lessons. As well, the program has a robust website with a number of parent resources and materials. 

 

The curriculum is built on Bloom's Taxonomy of Learning and 10 Social and Emotional Competencies. Everything fits together under our PRIDE umbrella of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and is aligned with our Dragon PRIDE Core Virtues and guiding principles of Restorative Practices. The 7 Mindsets Curriculum is taught during character education time, which is built into both the elementary schedule (mornings) and middle school schedule (Advisory).
