Our graduation alumni high school seniors are hitting it out of the park! Take a look at the following #DragonAlum success stories:
- Erie High School senior Ethan Hughes has been selected National Society of Professional Engineers High School Student of the year!
- Niwot High School senior Cole Toothaker was featured as Student Athlete of the Week by the Left Hand Valley Courier.
- Niwot High School seniors Julea Trank-Greene and Maedee Trank-Greene were featured in the Left Hand Valley Courier for their IB Service Project benefitting HOPE for Longmont.
Linlee Morrison, (class of 2014), a freshman at Colorado School of Mines, was recently recognized by the Colorado Youth Corps Association, for her outstanding contributions to "conserving Colorado's natural resources on behalf of the Boulder County Youth Corps." Linlee is studying electrical engineering. Read more about the story here.
Ryan Velarde, a freshman at Erie High School, is part of a new science-based club at Erie High School called the S.M.A.R.T. team, which stands for Students Modeling A Research Topic. Students work as teams to understand a molecular story and to design and build a physical model of a protein that is the focus of a research project. Students ultimately work to design proteins, 3D print the proteins, and present the story of their work to members of academia. The ultimate goal of the team is to present their work in the National Competition. To learn more about S.M.A.R.T. teams, click here.
Isabella (Bella) Wolf, (class of 2017) and Tessa Moskoff (class of 2018) competed in the 2019 Fencing Junior Olympics. Their team placed 4th in the Junior Women's Team Epee event. Bella is a sophomore at Silver Creek High School in Longmont, and Tessa is a sophomore at Fairview High School in Boulder.
Mackenzie Fidelak, (class of 2014), a freshman at Stanford University, was part of the winning NCAA Pac-12 Volleyball team, for the team's eighth national title. Mackenzie is studying marketing and psychology.
Tessa Moskoff (class of 2018) won a journalism award through Best of SNO, an online newspaper that features the "best of" high schools and colleges from across the country. Her article is entitled "Transportation by RTD Buses," and was featured in the October 18, 2018 edition.
