As another school year gets up and running, we want your students up and running, too! 100 Mile Club will be starting on September 10, 2018. The purpose of 100 Mile Club is to “provide all individuals the opportunity to experience fitness and TRUE personal success by Accepting the Challenge of running (or walking) 100 miles at school during a single school year.” Everyone is welcome no matter what the fitness level or grade level. We do not compete, but encourage growth and the ability to work towards a goal in an inclusive and positive environment. For every 25 miles a child completes, they will receive an incentive to acknowledge their progress and hopefully spur them on to keep going towards the next goal. On May 16, we will have our end of year ceremony where every child will receive a certificate showing how many miles they achieved through the year. On top of that, every child that runs 100 miles or more will receive a gold medal. This is a great way to get the blood flowing in the mornings to help students be able to actively engage in their classrooms as well. (If families have time, they are welcome to join in the movement as well!)
Starts Monday, September 10!
Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 7:15-7:45 a.m.
Cost for the year is $50 per student. (Covers the cost of $40 Dragon Flight registration fee, $10 activity fee, and the incentives: a challenge accepted card, t-shirt, pencil, bracelet, end of year certificate, and gold medal). Free and reduced pays no registration fees. Parents and guardians are welcome to join the fun for $10 activity fee per adult.
