Middle School Academic and Conduct Eligibility

athleticsFlagstaff Academy takes a "school first" approach when it comes to student athletics. All students must meet the following requirements in order to remain eligible for participation.

Academic Eligibility
  1. Students are expected to maintain passing grades in all courses during the sports season. Passing grades are considered a C (71.0) or better. To be eligible, students may not be failing more than one class at any time.
  2. Grades are checked every Thursday afternoon and again on Monday mornings before a game/meet.
  3. It is the responsibility of the student athlete to ensure his/her homework is complete and grades are kept up. We suggest that players regularly check Infinite Campus and with their teachers throughout the week (not at the last minute) to make sure they are in good standing academically.
  4. When students are ineligible to participate in a game, they will be informed of their status (privately) during practice on Thursday before games/meets with a follow up Monday morning after a final eligibility report is pulled at 10:00 a.m. on game day.
  5. Students who are ineligible will not travel with the team to away games and will not workout with the teams during home games. This time should be used to catch up on school work.
Conduct Eligibility
  1. To maintain eligibility, student athletes should conform to the school standard of conduct and sportsmanship. Should a student not meet this standard and receive a code of conduct major referral, they will become ineligible for one week from the date the code of conduct was received (per administration). The player will not be allowed to participate in any games/meets during that period of time.
  2. The SVVSD rules of conduct will apply to all participants each season.
