Welcome to Ms. Curtis' 8th Grade Math Class

I am delighted to be starting my seventeenth year at Flagstaff Academy. I currently teach 8th Grade Math, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Intervention. In addition, I am a coach of our Flagstaff CyberPatriots team with Mrs. Reh.

 

I am a native of Southern California, but have been living in Colorado for over 20 years. I received my BA from Cal State University, Northridge and an M.Ed in K-12 Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Arlington. I began my teaching career by teaching Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 at the high school level in California. I completed the requirements for my teacher's license here in Colorado and taught fourth grade at Flagstaff Academy for four years before returning to my roots to teach secondary mathematics once again. I have  taught 8th grade math at Flagstaff for the last 13 years.

 

I enjoy spending time and traveling with my two adult sons, Austin and Kyle who are both computer scientists. I am a fan of CU football (Go Buffs!) and attend as many games as I can. In my spare time, I like to read, cycle, visit family in California, and hike in the beautiful Colorado mountains.
